As the end of the Play in tournament came to a close the actual playoffs began on April 16, 2022. The best talented teams are going head-to-head in a seven game series to see who advances and who gets cut until next year. Many games have been played since writing this blog and they have been very entertaining to say the least. Of course, the higher seeded teams are showing off their skills and letting everyone know they are no joke. Then there are some lower ranked seeds that are putting on a show as well. Teams such as the Timberwolves are up a game to the #2 seed Grizzlies. It truly does not matter if your the number one seed or the last seed in the conference, as long as you put all your effort and soul into the game you will come out a winner. So without further or do, lets get to reviewing the games so far! (There is going to be two posts to this do all the games there actually is.) Lets start with the Eastern Conference.
The 76ers and Raptors have been a pretty interesting serious so far. The Sixers are two games to zero. They have been showing off their dominance with their elite scoring and the ability to play defense. Game one was taken over by the Sixers only having three turnovers the entire game (tying the NBA record) and being able to score 131 points to the raptors 111. With consistent ball move and being able to open the lane, the sixers had the stride to make the game theirs. Tyrese Maxey had put on a show scoring 38 points in 38 minutes. James Harden also ran up his numbers on the assist side putting up fourteen assists. The Raptors just did not seem to have the answer on defense.
The second game however seemed to be going the Raptors way. They had gone on an eleven to two run in the opening minutes of the first quarter. But yet again, the Sixers found a way to make a comeback in this game. The Raptors seemed to be fouling a whole lot throughout the game allowing many of the Sixers tops scorers to make it to the line. Tyrese and Joel scored 53 points combined for the team and secured the win for the Sixers. Is the series going to be a sweep or do you think the Raptors have it in them for a comeback down two games?
I believe this to be the most entertaining series so far. The first game in itself was a very entertaining game to watch, with the score coming to 115-114 and the Celtics taking game 1. It came down to the final few seconds but superstar Jayson Tatum flew through the defense and was able to put up the game winner allowing the Celtics to take game one. Kyrie went off in Boston putting up 39 points against his prior team. I believe this performance came from his frustration from the fans. Many of the fans in Boston were getting under Kyrie's skin which escalated to Kyrie giving the bird to many of the fans in TD Garden.
Overall this game was a very entertaining and fun game to watch and put many fans on the edge of their seat wondering who is going to put up the last shot. This series continues tomorrow at 7 p.m. Who do you have winning the series?
This game seemed to be all defense. The Heat were able to stop Trae young from getting his hands on the ball and being able to put any quick shots up. This game was pretty lopsided. The Heat took down the Hawks by 24 points with the final score coming to 115-91. The event that captured the eyes of many during this game was the brawl between the two stars Trae Young and Jimmy Butler. These two had an altercation with a transition going down to the side of the Heat. This game was starting to get heated! Get it, no ok. Anyway, many fans believe that this series with be a low out due to the fact the Heat are already up one game and they barely made it into the play in tournament. Plus they are playing the top seeded team in the East. Jimmy Butler also becomes a different athlete whenever he enters the playoffs.
The Bulls started out the year with a pretty hot start, but due to injuries have lost quite a few games later in the season. The Bucks had a pretty consistent season as well. None of their top performers were injured but couldn't find the spark to go on the run that every NBA teams hopes to go on.
I am sure many fans were surprised to see that the score was as low as it was with each team scoring under 100 points. The top scorers for each team were both big men. Nikola Vucevic scored 24 points and Giannis scored 27 points. Both teams either played stellar defense or could no shoot the ball. The Bucks seemed to have the upper hand winning the game 93-86. This series I believe is going to be the same as the Celtics and Nets game. I believe with the scores being as close as they were, that this series is going to be very entertaining and make many fans enjoy watching it. Much like Jimmy Butler, Giannis usually finds his spark and becomes much more of a "Greek Freak" during the playoffs. I think that this will come down to the wire and there will be a game 7 of this series. Do you think that this series will go a full seven games or is it going to be a quicker series? The action will continue tomorrow at 9:30 p.m.
