The Come Back

Last night was the night of the NCAA championship. With the Kansas Jayhawks (1) going against the North Carolina Tar heels (8). Both teams earlier in the week had beaten other highly talented teams like Villanova and Duke. But this game was a very eventful game that kept many fans of both the teams and maybe just regular fans on their toes waiting for what is going to happen next. At the start UNC were mopping the floor with Kansas scoring 40 points in the first half to the 25 that Kansas had scored. UNC had a when on a 16 to 0 run against Kansas at one point in the game. So, many people assumed that UNC was going to run the rest of the game and I am sure that many of the Kansas players may have lost hope to going into the locker room down 15 points.

Coming out in the second half was a different story for the Jayhawks. There must have been something that this team received that allowed all their motivation to return. All the momentum had left UNC and came to the side of Kansas.  The Jayhawks came out hot and finished hot scoring 47 points in the second (more than UNC in the first) and UNC had only score 29 points. Brining the ending score to 72-69. Kansas had made this historic comeback winning their first National title since 2008.

Four of the top players from UNC were called out of the game due to injuries that had happened during the game. One of the players, Puff Johnson, had suffered a shot to the stomach causing him to puke and be helped of the court. Amazingly he was then put back into the game despite the hard hit. Many would say these players were the success of the team. What do you think? Do you think that UNC just starting lacking during the game or was it these four players that could have made a difference?

All in all, March Madness this year was full of amazing stories such as St. Peter's Cinderella story, or Coach K's final game as Duke's head coach. This March Madness with be a time to remember with many records being broke and many teams that you may have thought were no names becoming the big names.
