And the Winner is....

As many of you know, there were two main players that were in the race to win MVP this year. Those two player being Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid. Both players played exceptionally well but only one of them had the talent and enough votes to win it this year. The winner is......

Nikola Jokic 

Nikola Jokic has won the 2021-2022 NBA MVP. He had average 27.1 points a game, 13.8 rebounds, and 7.9 assists per game, having one of the all-time great individual seasons. Many people see the reason he had won MVP is because he had led a sixth seed team to the playoffs but unfortunately lost in the first round to the Warriors. Jokic joins the list two win back to back MVP's. Only 13 players have done this in previously to Jokic. Giannis being the most recent. Being able to win two MVP's back to back is pretty tough due to the fact you need to duplicate your numbers from the previous year or improve them even more.  As many fans and players may be happy that Jokic had won the award for the second consecutive year, there are also many fans that believe that Embiid was snubbed out of getting the award.

Snubbed 

Like said previous many fans are frustrated that Embiid did not easily win this award. Winning the scoring title for the year, Embiid was able to average 30.6 points a game. The first center able to win this title since Shaq. Even though he may have had less in rebounds and assists, may people argue that when Embiid is out, then the Sixers become a whole different teams for the worst. But Joel is enabling his team to make a run for the NBA Finals, where he has a chance to win the Finals MVP. The fans reasoning for being upset is because of how the Heat series started. The Heat were on the road to beat the Sixer's in this current series due to the fact that Embiid was out. With Embiid's return in game 3, the Sixer's were able to take home both the wins. With the leadership mentality that he possesses, he just makes the Sixer's look like a whole different team. This is the reasoning as to why many people think that Embiid was snubbed out of winning this award.
