Embiid Out

As many are aware by now, Joel Embiid is in the race to win the MVP title. He has been putting up some great numbers for the Sixers and has lead his team to the semifinals of the playoffs. All this being said, all Sixers were excited to see him advance to the next round to play to play the Heat and hopefully going on to beat them as well. Although many fans were hoping for a good start, the Sixers and their fan base received news that Joel Embiid would miss the first two games of the Heat series.

Siakam's Elbow

As the Sixers were to take on their last game of the Sixers vs. Raptors series, Joel Embiid had sustained an injury from Pascal Siakam while he was driving through the lane to get a bucket. As Siakam drove toward the lane, his elbow connected with Embiid's head causing an orbital injury and mild concussion. After this the team had to check to make sure Joel was save to move on and play in the series against Miami. Unfortunately for the Sixer's, Embiid is going to miss both games 1 and 2. Information from ESPN and the NBA says that Embiid with be reevaluated and is hoping to return for the rest of the series and hoping to move on to the Conference finals.

Embiid is out, now what?
After having the opportunity to watch the first game of this series, the Sixers had some trouble scoring. The looked anxious and just not as confident without their big man out there. The Sixers had trouble being able to defend Bam, and also had trouble boxing out and grabbing the rebounds. Paul Reed packed on the heavy defense but just was not enough to stop the Heat and their offense. Again, the Sixers did not look great and were taking too many contested shots. Many fans, I would believe, are hoping the Joel will be able to return to game 3 and hopefully be as dominant as he as been all year. But as of now it is time for Harden to show his leadership and come back Wednesday to hopefully tie the series 1 to 1.

Do the Sixer's have what it takes to beat the Heat or is Jimmy Butler going to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals? Let me know down below who you think it going to win each side? Also who is going to be taking it all home.
